Wrestlemania at SunLife sets first-day sales record
First-day ticket sales for WrestleMania XXVIII at SunLife Stadium set a record over the weekend, with $6.3 million, shattering the previous record of $4.8 million for the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania in Atlanta.
Wrestlemania Tickets went on sale Saturday for the April 1 extravaganza, featuring a main event matching local legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s return to the ring against John Cena.
“We are thrilled that WrestleMania XXVIII has already made WWE history in such dramatic fashion,” said John Saboor, WWE senior vice president of special events, in a press statement. “We fully anticipate that this year’s WrestleMania in Miami will be our largest and most successful ever.”
Tickets are $250-$1,500 at Ticketmaster outlets. More info: wwe.com.
